simple machines forums and monkey cms

Thinking about giving monkeycms another go in the near future, for a major update on a county pool league website.

The current site uses joomla and smf with bridge plugin for joomla so that user data gets sent to both databases when a user signs up and it also logs you into both the site and the forums if you log into either.

How could I achieve the same single registration/login situation with a mcms/smf combo?

Don't want a situation where users have to re-sign up so i'm guessing i'd need a way for mcms to use the userdata from the smf database? or have some kind of auto duplicate the data script upon a new user signing up?
