Default Monetary Transactions

Can MonnkeyCMS handle credt/debit card payments using paypal for example? If not, would this be a hard thing to accomplish?

It doesn't 'out of the box' - and without looking at the Paypal interface, I can't really say either way how easy it would be to enable something like this.

Creating PayPal buttons is simple HTML, so a quick 'n dirty method would be to create a definition field to hold the HTML, or the values required to create 'dynamic' buttons.

PayPal handle the cart side of things, so should be relatively simple.

Its something I'm interested in, so will have a more detailed tinker and let you know.

This thread is going back a bit now, what would be everyones current suggestions for shopping cart solutions that can be integrated into a Monkey site?

PayPal / Google checkout buttons are easy to set up and allow 'carts'.
They're not too hard to wire into an existing site, so should be able to be shoe-horned into a MonkeyCMS site. Theoretically...
I've not done much on the original PHP code mentioned above, and since then, I've fell in love with CodeIgnitor which is a PHP framework. That has cart software in it, so again, shouldn't be that hard to create a MonkeyCMS plugin using both 'technologies'. However, I don't have the time at current to wire these together. I'll cast an eye over it to see how complex it would be though - its these "shouldn't take long..." projects that consume many nights' worth of coding!

I've had a quick look at Google Checkout already, but it appeared that if you had more than one product to sell you'd also need to integrate a third party shopping cart system.

I'll have a look at paypal too.
