MonkeyCMS was designed to meet the needs of a number of sites. This has resulted in various features being present that are not available in alternative CMS packages. Below is a list of some of MonkeyCMS core features:

• Extensive anti-spam and abuse features - block 'bot' registrations, moderate users and comments, block email domains and many, many more options
• Multiple content definitions - have separate definitions for news, reviews or whatever you want, each with its own set of content elements or fields.
• Multiple layouts per definition - you can have multiple different layouts for each content definition, just select the layout you want from a dropdown and the changes take effect immediately
• Powerful image and file management - upload and manipulate images, upload files with full download logs available. You can even restrict file downloads to specific groups of users

• Web-based interface - once installed, you can maintain your website entirely through a friendly user interface.
• Public and private user groups - you can create as many groups as you like, they can be public or private and you can even moderate new users before they have full access
• Restrict content to specific users/groups - do you have premium content? You can easily restrict any content to any user, group or even just prevent unregistered users from viewing. Restrictions are controlled at the individual content level!
• Powerful multi-user support - you can have as many admin users as you like and each one can have a different level of access. You can control who can do what and as superuser you have ultimate control over all users.
