MonkeyCMS offers a small variety of options to allow you to restrict content to certain users. On the basic level you can allow all users, registered users, specific users or user groups to view various pieces of content. By default, all content is available to all users.
Restricting Content to Registered Users
There may be times where only registered users should be able to view content. This is the simplest option for restricting content and takes seconds.
If you have the correct permissions set, once you have added a piece of content to the scheduler you will see the Restrict Content button against that content as shown below.
Select Registered Users and click save. Once this content is online it'll only be viewable by registered users.
Restricting Content to Specified Users
There may be instances where you only want a few specified people to view your content. As above, click the Restrict Content button in the scheduler (or in the Add/Edit Content screen) and select 'Specified Users' in the Restrict Content dialogue.
Once the User list is displayed you can select one or more by holding the CTRL key and clicking on the Users.
Once you have selected the users permitted to view the content, click Save.
Restricting Content to Groups
To restrict content to specific groups, click on the Restrict Content button in the scheduler/edit content screen and then select Groups in the Restrict Content dialogue.
Once the Group list is displayed you can select one or more by holding the CTRL key and clicking on the Groups
Once you have selected the groups permitted to view the content, click Save.
Restricting Content to a certain date
You may wish to restrict your content only for a limited time. To do this, just enter the appropriate date/time in the Restrict Until field and save.
