Configuring MonkeyCMS for Skin Imports and Exports
In order to import and export skins, MonkeyCMS must first be configured so that it knows where templates will be stored. To do this, browse to Site > Site Admin > Site Settings and then navigate to the Skins and Templates options.
You must define a path in the Skin Import Export Path setting where you'll be importing/exporting to. If you want to export, this directory must be writable by the web server.
It is important that this directory only ever contains the template folders and no other files.
Importing Skins
To import a skin, browse to Layout > Import Skin. You will be shown a list of skins that are stored in the Skin Import Export Path.
Skins which are already installed will be marked as such, you can still import these if you choose and overwrite the skins already installed. You will be asked if you wish to do this so you don't accidentally overwrite your installed modified skins.
To import, just locate the skin you are interested in and click the link. The skin will import and will be set as inactive in the skin manager.
Exporting Skins
To export a skin, browse to Layout > Export Skin. All you need to do is select the skin you wish to export and click the Export button.
Note: If a folder already exists for the skin you are attempting to export, the export will fail. If so, you should remove the folder before attempting to export the skin again. Exporting only saves the templates defined within MonkeyCMS - any associated images and styles should be saved separately.
